about TOM

Thomas Wayne Manring of Naples, FL, passed away on Friday, September 14, 2012. He was born in Muncie, IN on August 9th 1943. Tom graduated from Bowling Green University as a Delta Tau Delta. He was an elementary school principal, director of tennis and a real estate professional. Tom was the youngest elementary school principal of that time in his state of Ohio. He was a consummate educator and enjoyed the challenge of teaching and helping others. Tom was a highly accomplished college and semi- professional tennis player, which led him to his passion of teaching tennis to all ages. In 1990, he began his real estate career in Naples. He passed on his real estate knowledge and great work ethics to his sons, who are still in the business.

Thomas Wayne Manring was born in Muncie, Indiana August 9th, 1943.  He picked up the sport of tennis later in life as a teenager and got hooked immediately.  He would play with anyone no matter their sex, age or ability level.  He brought this vigor with him to college where he played at Bowling Green University and received his degree in elementary education.  Immediately after college he worked as a physical education teacher and soon thereafter became principal of Lincoln Elementary in Middletown, OH.

Tom Manring was an educator at heart.  Tennis was his passion.  The Tom Manring Foundation will carry on his name and spirit through these two mediums.  I cannot think of more appropriate way to honor a man that touched so many people.  We will forever miss his youthful smile, kind hearted nature and vibrant spirit that influenced us all.
